National community hubs program mid-year update 2019
National Community Hubs Program – Mid Year Update
We are excited to share our Mid-year Update for 2019. It’s been a busy year so far and is the start of a period of growth for the Community Hubs National Program. Funding was recently announced for another 32 new hubs to open nationally.
We continue to support children through age-appropriate play-based activities, and language and literacy programs. Families also continue to engage with hubs, with nearly 4000 families connecting with 74 different hubs in the first half of 2019.
We are thrilled to be able to offer child-minding in some hubs, thanks to the Office for Women. This resulted in 45 hubs accessing this support and created 23 jobs for women as child-minders. English conversation and language classes remain a focus with more than 23,000 attendances at English language and conversation classes.
You can read more about what we’ve achieved in the first half of 2019 in our Mid-year Update. If you’d like to read about what we achieved throughout 2018, you can read the 2018 Year in Review here 2018 Year in Review.
