CHA makes use of small working groups to assist with the implementation of ad hoc projects.
You may be asked to participate in a working group as a support coordinator, or one of your hub leaders may be asked to participate with your approval.
Working group members assist with:
- Workshopping ideas.
- Testing material.
- Bringing in the knowledge of the network.
- Ensuring all projects are successful and meet the needs of the hub community.
Being part of a working group is an opportunity for professional development. You will:
- Contribute knowledge and skills and learn the process for implementing national projects across the network.
- Work with colleagues from other states and regions, as well as external stakeholders.
- Build on your professional skills and experience by adding new responsibilities to your current role.
Funding and requirements
Payment for working group participation
All working group members will be remunerated for their time. Your time contribution to the working group is in addition to your hub leader hours.
The hourly rate will be $40. This is in addition to your current salary.
You will be paid directly by CHA for your time. You’ll need to provide your banking details and submit a timesheet for your hours.
The number of participants for each working group is restricted and selection is based on the needs for each individual working group.
Opportunities will be promoted via email and the closed CHA hub leader Facebook group. If you would like more information, please contact the Program Manager.
Requirements
- Working groups will meet for a minimum of three meetings and meetings will be conducted via teleconference unless otherwise stated.
- Each meeting will go for one to two hours and will be held, where possible, outside of hub operating hours.
- Participants will also be paid for meeting preparation – this could be an additional one to two hours per meeting.
- Participation must be approved by your employer. If your hub leader is taking part in a working group, you and their school will be asked to approve their participation.
Working groups in action!
The Quality Improvement Framework was a major project run in 2019 as a way to improve reporting, communication and hub planning.
A working group was a key component to the success of the project and is an excellent example of why working groups are used.
