The quality of the relationships you establish with your hub leader and support coordinator are critical to your hub’s success.
To build these relationships, you can:
- Provide a full introduction to your hub leader once they come on board, including an orientation of the school.
- Encourage hub leaders to attend and speak at staff meetings and school assemblies to raise awareness.
- Work with hub leaders and support coordinators to implement programs within the hub as well as creative ways to use the hub space to engage the wider school in the hub, for example, use of the hub space for breakfast club or homework programs.
- Encourage hub leaders to share stories of impact from the hub.
- Encourage hub activities that contribute to the school.
- Discuss with hub leaders the best way to align the objectives of the hub into the objectives of the school, for example, transition programs and early learning activities link in with strategic priorities of school readiness.
