Hub Census 2025

Hub Census Week: 4 - 8 August 2025

Thank you for being part of the Hub Census 2025.

A census is a way of collecting data such as gender, age, and education levels to help describe a population or a group.

The census will help us understand who is visiting the hubs and why, which will fill gaps in our knowledge. It will guide better decision-making and strengthen our advocacy with our government and stakeholder partners. The last census was in 2023 – it’s time to update that data!

Thanks so much for your help with this important activity for the hubs network – we couldn’t do it without you.

To learn more about the census including what you will receive from CHA, how to prepare in your hub and what to expect during Hub Census Week and any Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) see the sections below.

You will receive:

  • Express Post bag marked to your attention.
  • Letter explaining contents of the bag (see sample below).

  • 50 copies of the survey (see sample below).

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) (see sample below).

  • Empty Express Post bag with return address.
  • Photocopy additional surveys if needed.
  • Before Hub Census Week, please place this poster up on your noticeboard/windows promoting Hub Census Week – Hub Census Week 2025 poster.
  • Place this poster up on your noticeboard/windows after Hub Census Week to thank participants for taking part – Hub Census 2025 thank you.
  • Meet with your parent/student volunteers and school bicultural workers to make sure they support you in running Hub Census Week. They can help explain the census to your hub attendees so every adult can participate. For example, speak to your English facilitator about incorporating the survey in English classes run during Hub Census Week. A roster for each day may help.
  • Create a register to keep track of adults who have completed the survey so that you’re not asking a participant to complete the form twice.
    • Speak to your support coordinator or other hub leaders for ideas or help.
    • If you have a question, check our FAQs or contact Maurice at MauriceSyber@communityhubs.org.au. If it’s easier, ping Maurice over on Teams. You may also want to attend a drop-in session hosted by CHA on:
